Abstract:

New faunistic data on the Italian Mutillidae are provided and keys to the subfamilies, tribes, genera and species are given. The following new synonymies are here proposed. Dentilla curtiventris (André, 1901) = Mutilla erronea André, 1902 n. syn. Physetopoda nuptura (Mercet, 1905) =Smicromyrme balianii Invrea, 1932 n. syn. Smicromyrme sulcisia Invrea, 1955 = Smicromyrme ingauna Invrea, 1958 n. syn. Physetopoda ligustica (Invrea, 1951) = Smicromyrme ligustica f. borgiana Invrea, 1951 n. syn. Physetopoda ligustica (Invrea, 1951) = Smicromyrme ligustica f. myrtacea Invrea, 1951 n. syn. The taxa Smicromyrme lampedusia Invrea, 1957 and Mutilla nuptura Mercet, 1905 are new combinations with the genus Physetopoda. The occurence of Physetopoda unicincta (Lucas, 1846) in Italy is confirmed and its $ is redescribed. Skorikovia pliginskiji (Lelej, 1984) was collected in Tuscany: both the species and the genus are new in Italy. The M of Smicromyrme trinotata collected in Sicily is described. The M of Mutilla laevigata Sichel & Radoszkowski, 1870, collected in Valle d’Aosta, is redescribed and the species is resuscitaded. The M of Trogaspidia catanensis (Rossi, 1794) collected in Greece is redescribed. Smicromyrme asinarensis Pagliano & Strumia n. sp. is described.
